Given that Thailand is such a popular (and well documented!) destination as far as Indians are concerned, I didn't think that it could still More Pictures surprise – especially travel-weary people like your's truly....! But I was indeed pleasantly surprised at the great time I had when I took the well-beaten path to Bangkok and Chiang Mai over the Dussehra holidays.

The high point of my trip, in fact, was something that Thailand is really well known for: spa and wellness treatments. But first let me mention my only sinful indulgence there – the fabulous seafood at Royal Dragon, apparently one of the world's largest restaurants according to the Guinness Book! As I dug into their signature King Lobster Fruit Salad, I learnt that the restaurant has a staff of nearly1,200 and can seat over 5,000 people! They even dish up a 'Flying Serve Show' which features an ancient Thai warrior who 'flies' from West to East, carrying food and hot pots for guests over a suspended rail. The restaurant offers this unique style of service with waiters skating and flying their dinner deliveries too!
